About Our Volunteers JAMIE JACOBS 2010 Volunteer of the Year
FEARRINGTON
VILLAGE 2010
Community Volunteers of the Year ----------------------------------------------------------------
"At the end of a long work day, I always find myself re-energized
by my trip to the barn to be with the students and the horses. Volunteering with NCTRC helps give me perspective on what matters
most in life." --- Ellen Wilbur, volunteer, 12 years

Get Involved "It's Not Just a Pony Ride"
Join us as a volunteer! Without our volunteers our riders simply could
not ride! We need volunteers to help: - assist with lessons*
- event management and fundraising
- office management
- program planning and management
- manage and care for the farm and facilities
*For those who are interested
in assisting with riding classes, we offer volunteer orientations before the start of and throughout each of 6-16 week sessions.
Lesson volunteers work directly with our riders and horses in class. Responsibilities include: helping in the arena as horse leaders and sidewalkers providing horse care, and doing barn chores.
Classes are held year round Monday through Fridays. Classes range from 30 minutes to 60 minutes. Lesson volunteers
need to arrive 30 minutes before class to help set up and remain after class to help clean up. This commitment requires
approximately 2 hours of your time per week for the entire session. No experience is necessary.
Training is provided. If you are 15 years old or older and are interested, we'd love to talk with you about how you can
get involved! Email Diane Stranahan, volunteer coordinator, at 919-304-1009
or by email at volunteer@nctrcriders.org. Or download a volunteer application.

Check our calendar for volunteer orientation dates.
